Gordon Royle is a graduate of Otago Medical School. After moving to Auckland he undertook a Masters in Molecular Biology, and went on to train in Haematology. For the last 19 years he has been working as a Haematologist and researcher at Middlemore Hospital, and is a senior lecturer at Auckland University's School of Medicine. James Liang is a clinical and pathology haematologist with special interest in adult haematological cancer while also managing general haematological conditions such as thrombosis and haemostasis. After completing his medical degrees in 2005 from the University of Auckland, James continued his medical training in the Auckland region. In 2015 he was awarded a research fellowship from Cancer and Palliative Network (Perth, Australia) and spent 2016-2017 at the University of Western Australia and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. During this time his research mainly focused in the field of myeloproliferative neoplasm with the aim of identifying a potential druggable target. Paul Ockelford is a recently retired haematologist and former director of both the Adult Haemophilia Centre and Thrombosis Unit at Auckland City Hospital.  Paul has particular expertise in haemostasis and thrombosis and consults on a wide range of haematological disorders. He maintains an active research programme in the treatment of venous thromboembolism. Paul is a former chair of the New Zealand Subcommittee on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. He serves on the Medical Advisory panel of the New Zealand Haemophilia Foundation and the National Haemophilia Management Group.
